I began studying with Dr. Timpone the last year of my undergraduate degree and it was a pivotal point in my vocal development. In our first few months working together I began to notice a significant change in my tone and an overall better supported sound. Dr. Timpone also helped tremendously with my tongue tension I had been grappling with for years and was the absolute best in helping me select repertoire that felt comfortable in my voice and that I also enjoyed singing. I also love that Dr. Timpone was able to give invaluable insight on “being a performer,” from health tips when you are sick or traveling, to audition strategies that will stay with me forever. Additionally, Dr. Timpone’s teaching has been paramount to my success in national competitions, graduate school admission, and development into the musician and teacher I am today. • I learned so much from Dr. Timpone. She knows my individual voice and exactly how to help me produce the best sound I can. She is very supportive and encouraging and she provides lot of opportunities for me to grow and succeed and become a better musician. I love that she encourages me to develop my performance skills even though I am not a performance major.
• She is very understanding of scheduling conflicts and will go out of her way to make sure that everything works out for her students. She gives her students plenty of opportunities to perform in front of their peers. She also takes notes for each student's lessons and performances and emails critiques to them.

I've never felt more welcome and appreciated as a person than when I worked with Dr. Timpone, and as far as who she is as a person, I can't imagine a sweeter or more kind individual that I've ever had the pleasure of working with. In addition, her understanding of voice and its technical components is clear and well-defined, and there is no doubt that she is fully knowledgeable about what she speaks on in lessons. Her repertoire knowledge is comprehensive, and she is herself well-practiced in voice, which provides a wealth of personal experiences from which she often relates her teaching to other students.

• Dr. Timpone's techniques work. I was having tongue tension issues and we did some very unorthodox exercise that eliminated that problem almost completely after 3 lessons. Every lesson built on another and I felt as if she had a plan for my voice. It has been such a change that my chorus teachers have even noticed it. It's been a blessing to have her as my instructor, and I have been singing her praises everywhere.

• Studying with an amazing mezzo-soprano, Prof. Sahoko, I have learned so many things. First of all, her advice for vocalizing is very accurate and precise. In fact, I have always been struggling hard in my vocalizing. However, with her exercising and teaching, I was able to find a singing way that my voice expands naturally and freely. The vocalizing in the lessons was the most comfortable way that I have ever felt in my singing. She gave me very useful tips for practicing and it have been working very well for me. Even though the program that I participated, called Lunigiana International Music Festival, was a short term, because of her clear expressions and suggestions in the lessons, I was able to understand and observe a lot from her. Besides that, she has very sweet personality and great passion as a musician and a teacher. Whenever I had questions, she always answered me and made sure if I understood it and if I found a solution. Even when the time of the lessons were over, she helped me until I got it. Also, her lecture about being a professional opera singer gave me a great idea and inspiration. I realized how important to learn from singers, like Prof. Sahoko, who currently work in opera industry. It was such a wonderful time working with her and I'm so happy that I joined in the LIMF. When I have a chance to go to States, I'll definitely go back to her studio to study with her.
